TWISTING PARADIGM
(OF A PARADISE)
Resort Project.
Location: Nusa Penida, Bali, Indonesia.
Project Featuring: Francisca Josephine.
Year: 2019.

"The Twisting Paradigm of A Paradise” philosophy in this development started from the cultural background of the site.
The island of Nusa Penida in Bali has only been recently famous for its tourist attractions. It used to have a negative stigma as a place of ‘witchcraft’ by many people. Regardless, that stigma has to be shifted without ‘changing’ entirely the ‘spirit of the place’.
It is important to embracing the traditional form, building materials, & construction techniques, while designing the new modern development. So in other words, the movement is not alienating the culture but instead emerging to its context.
